Teachers for hire

If teachers become specialists who are able to work w/ students from all over the world, there will be competition. This is good & will drive up the level of teaching. However, this may create a further divide between the have & have nots. Money will translate into better education, into better job, etc.

The health care system ought teach us that to have a “free market” in an industry that serves basic human rights only works to undermine those rights. If education is a right, we cannot let it become a free market. (truly free markets don’t exist anyway).

Education is not a service to be provided with quality dependent on available funds. Education ought be an experience that enriches our life rather than determines it.
